专业概况

Our mission is to educate, train and prepare students for what ultimately will become their life’s work. You will benefit from rigorous coursework, strong mentoring, hands-on research projects and access to state-of-the-art instrumentation – all to prepare you for a successful career after graduation.

Further your knowledge and expertise of chemistry and biochemistry with a Master of Science in natural sciences with an emphasis in chemistry. The degree belongs to the College of Sciences and Mathematics as a whole, but you’ll focus primarily on chemistry courses.

This specialized training will give the credentials often needed to teach high school or community college chemistry. The master’s degree also prepares you to conduct research in industrial and commercial settings or continue with doctoral studies in chemistry or biochemistry.

Students pursuing a Master of Science in Natural Science with an emphasis in chemistry have a non-thesis option, preparing them for a variety of careers in the field.

为来自中国的学生设计 To apply for a master’s degree program at SFA, you must meet one of the following requirements: Be in your final year of undergraduate work; Hold a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Generally, all applicants must have an overall undergraduate grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale and a 2.8 on the last 60 hours of undergraduate work. English Language Scores: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score - 79 IBT (Internet-Based) and 550 PBT (Paper-Based); International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score - Overall band 6.5; Pearson Test of English (PTE) score – 53.
