This course gives you access to leading figures in the fields of accounting, finance and management.

You'll study alongside academic staff with an international reputation for research. You'll build on your existing knowledge, and receive rigorous training in advanced theories of modern accounting and finance.

We're committed to developing the knowledge and experience which make you attractive to employers. You'll develop advanced skills to begin or progress your career in finance. Our focus on the role of accounting and finance in management gives you the opportunity to develop your managerial skills too.

Course content

You'll study a range core modules, consolidating your existing knowledge and introducing you to new concepts and techniques. You'll focus on the role of accounting and finance in organisational management and gain a thorough grounding in accounting, finance, financial management, financial reporting, financial markets, investment and risk.

Careers and skills

This course will help build your qualifications for a career in financial management or accountancy. Our graduates are developing careers in management roles worldwide. Many go on to work for one of the 'big four': Deloitte, Ernst & Young, PwC, and KPMG.

The skills that you will develop are in demand far beyond the financial services industry. Our alumni can be found in diverse small and medium enterprises and in public sector roles in local government, education, policing and health.

Each year, some of our students choose to continue their studies, joining the York Management School doctoral programme.

为来自中国的学生设计 For a postgraduate taught course such as a Masters, you would normally need a Bachelors degree from a recognised institution in a relevant subject. The score you will need depends on which university you attended in China and which subject you are applying to. Typically you would need at least the equivalent to a UK upper second class honours degree, however some courses will accept lower second class honours degrees. Actual requirements will vary by course: A score of 80 to 85 per cent is considered comparable to a UK 2:1; A score of 75 to 80 per cent is considered comparable to a UK 2:2. If you're a non-native English speaking applicant you must provide evidence of your English language ability.
