As an internationally renowned research department we have a vibrant community of research postgraduates. We offer full-time and part-time research degrees leading to MPhil and PhD qualifications in all areas of research covered by members of faculty.

We provide a stimulating yet supportive atmosphere, combined with access to superb research facilities. Our research postgraduates work closely with leading researchers in their chosen field and their projects are often published in top international journals.

Prospects

When our research students graduate, most take up lectureships and postdoctoral research positions in leading institutions worldwide, whilst others choose to apply their skills and knowledge outside academia and successfully pursue careers in health or industry.

为来自中国的学生设计 For a postgraduate taught course such as a Masters, you would normally need a Bachelors degree from a recognised institution in a relevant subject. The score you will need depends on which university you attended in China and which subject you are applying to. Typically you would need at least the equivalent to a UK upper second class honours degree, however some courses will accept lower second class honours degrees. Actual requirements will vary by course: A score of 80 to 85 per cent is considered comparable to a UK 2:1; A score of 75 to 80 per cent is considered comparable to a UK 2:2. If you're a non-native English speaking applicant you must provide evidence of your English language ability.
