专业概况

The Accelerated BSN program is a full-time, campus-based program that allows students to earn a BSN in 15 months. Only students with bachelor’s degrees in other disciplines are eligible for this program.

The Distance-Accelerated BSN (D-ABSN) program is a full-time, distance-based program that allows students to earn a BSN in 54 weeks. It is not a typical online program- it is not self-paced. Students will engage in learning via the internet on a daily basis using an inquiry guided learning pedagogy, and do clinicals near where they live. Three (3) on-campus sessions are required. Only students with an earned bachelor’s degree in another discipline are eligible for this program. Enrollment cycles will be September, January, and April.

The D-ABSN program was created to expand access to second-degree students to earn an Emory University BSN degree where they live and hope to work on graduation.

Our 54-week Distance-Accelerated BSN program is not your typical online program. Students will engage daily via the internet, both synchronously and asynchronously. We use an inquiry guided learning pedagogy, which is a form of active learning that starts by posing questions, problems or scenarios that promotes critical thinking. Students are fully immersed in a course, completing one course at a time, as they move through the curriculum. Foundational course work is front loaded during the first five (5) months of the program. Clinical practica will follow didactic course content. Students will participate in clinical experiences where they live and will be assigned to a local clinical site instructor. D-ABSN, students are required to attend three (3) on-campus sessions at the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing (located at 1520 Clifton Road, Atlanta, GA). Lodging is include and a portion of the travel and meal expenses will be reimbursed. The three onsite sessions include:

A two (2) day orientation prior to the beginning of the program. A two (2) week session during which the first didactic clinical course, clinical experience, and skills and simulated learning will occur, . A one (1) week capstone session
