VETERANS AFFAIRS ACADEMIC PARTNERSHIP
Emory University's Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing and the Atlanta VA Medical Center (VAMC) are teaming up to prepare nurse practitioners to provide specialized holistic and integrated care for the veteran population. If selected into the cohort, students are entitled to unique benefits and opportunities offered solely for this program.
Degree Options The four-semester, 51-hour program of study may be pursued full time or part time. Students may also pursue a dual MSN/MPH degree through the School of Nursing and the Rollins School of Public Health. A Post-Master’s option is also available.
Clinical Experience Students complete more than 600 hours of directly supervised clinical practice. Multiple clinical sites are available in the metropolitan-Atlanta area. These sites include primary care facilities, internal medicine practices, specialty practices, and extended care locations both within and external to Emory Health Care.
Unique Highlights The Adult/Gerontology Nurse Practitioner Primary Care program focuses on the unique aspects of providing health care to adolescents through older adults and their families. As the population of older adults grows exponentially, graduates of this program of study are prepared to improve the care of this entire population—not only individual patients.
