The conducting track in the Master of Music is designed to provide intense study for students interested in attaining professional-level skills and background in the art of conducting. Knowledge and skills are honed in rehearsal techniques for various ensembles, in analysis and interpretation of musical scores, and in appropriate conducting gestures for communicating musical interpretation.
The music education track in the Master of Music is designed to provide teachers with advanced skills and knowledge to succeed in the public schools or college teaching. Students may select one of four concentrations: instrumental, choral, elementary/general music or conducting. Students entering this degree should have an undergraduate degree in music.

为来自中国的学生设计 To apply for a master’s degree program at SFA, you must meet one of the following requirements: Be in your final year of undergraduate work; Hold a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Generally, all applicants must have an overall undergraduate grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale and a 2.8 on the last 60 hours of undergraduate work.
