专业概况

在这里学什么？ With our BSc (Hons) Chemistry degree, we blend laboratory study with classroom learning to ensure you graduate with a balanced understanding of the subject, from inorganic and organic chemistry to physical and analytical chemistry.We’ve worked to shape our curriculum around industry needs and developments, so we’ll equip you with the skills and strengths that employers want. And, while the units you’ll study provide a well-rounded understanding of the subject as a whole, you’ll also have the flexibility to focus on those areas that interest you most – developing the knowledge, experience and skills you’ll need to fulfil your professional or academic ambitions. As such, we cover a wide range of specialist areas, including physiochemical processes, materials chemistry, forensic chemistry, biological and medicinal chemistry, drug discovery, catalysis, computational chemical modelling and spectroscopy, and synthetic chemistry.**FEATURES AND BENEFITS:**- We recently invested over a million pounds in upgrading our synthetic chemistry and materials laboratories and installing new analytical equipment.- Our teaching is supported by a range of technological innovations including videos to support the learning of key concepts and problem-solving practice.- You can opt for a four-year route, with the third year of your degree spent on an industry placement or studying abroad with one of our partner institutions in Europe, North America or Australasia.- Apply for the BSc (Hons) course now and you can choose the MChem later, at the end of Year 2. As long as you’re working to a high enough standard you can then switch over to the MChem route.
