专业概况

在这里学什么？

The Bachelor of Science degree in Long-Term Care Administration provides students the education, qualifications and eligibility for state and national licensure eligibility to work as administrators in long-term care settings, including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, retirement communities, congregate living, home-care, adult care centers and hospice care and other long term services and supports.

Students may earn the certified dementia practitioner (CDP) credential prior to graduation. After graduation and passing of the state and national licensure exams for nursing home administration (NHA), graduates working in the long-term care field will qualify to apply for the health services executive (HSE) credential.

Program Learning Outcomes

Graduates of this program will be able to:

Demonstrate an understanding of the provision of customer care and services

Demonstrate an understanding of departmental operations and how each area interacts with other areas in the provision of care and services

Demonstrate knowledge of management, leadership, legal and regulatory requirements and the administrator’s perspective on how to successfully oversee operations.

Effectively communicate ideas in oral presentations and written papers.

Identify opportunities for employment in long-term care services and supports.

为来自中国的学生设计 New freshmen applicants must finish secondary school in their home country by the time of enrollment to be eligible for university (comparable to the completion of senior high school in the U.S.). Freshmen should meet the minimum requirement of GPA 2.5 on a U.S. 4.0 scale. Applicants must obtain a minimum score of TOEFL Paper Based Test is 525 (71 on the Internet based version), the minimum score of MELAB is 75 or IELTS minimum score of 6.0 and the minimum score of PTE academic is 48.
